The College of Electromechanical Engineering/University of Technology participated with the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce in a symposium discussing “Strategies for the Development of Renewable Energy and the Future of Iraq”. The dialogue is chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sondos Samir and attended by the Deputy Minister of Environment, Dr. Jassim Al-Falahi
The session focused on the importance of renewable energy and the studies on the work that were implemented and supervised on the grounds of Al-Anbar and Baghdad. Graduate and undergraduate students are recommended to refer to more projects in this field
The symposium, which was attended by the Vice President of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Raad Al Bureij, and members of the Board of Directors, Mr. Alaa Al-Nouri and Mr. Rashid Al-Saadi, as well as the Chamber’s advisors, Mr. Khaled Al-Wali and Mr. Ahmed Hattout, focused on protecting the environment and mechanisms for reducing pollution and preserving biological diversity, and also address providing Resources and support the local economy
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, Dr. Jassim Al-Falahi, said during the symposium that “the Ministry supports the ambitious Iraqi Green Building Council project,” praising “the efforts of the private sector in adopting environmentally friendly construction methods”
He added, "The completed work reflects Iraq's commitment to achieving the goals of the green growth strategy and the national development plan, in a way that enhances its environmental and economic commitments," noting that "the Iraqi government has a pivotal role in preparing the Iraqi green building standard, through close cooperation with government agencies and the private sector"

Today, Monday (December 16, 2024), the final exams of the first course for initial study students for the academic year (2024-2025) began in the halls of the Faculty of Electromechanical Engineering for all stages of the five departments, except for the first stage
On the first day, the College dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ghassan Abdul Hussein Bilal, toured the examination halls to inspect the progress of the examination process
Professors briefed the Dean of the College on the nature of setting exam questions, emphasising meeting students’ requirements and providing them with the appropriate atmosphere in the exam halls, thus making the examination process more successful
