The Women's Affairs Unit organized an awareness workshop

 Titled: “Together to Create an Environment that Rejects Abuse of Women.”

The Women’s Affairs Unit in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering organized a workshop entitled “Together to Create an Environment that Rejects Abuse of Women”. The workshop is held in Al-Kindi Hall, with the participation and hosting of Prof. Iman Saleh and some lecturers and students

Asst Prof. Asifa Mahdi Muhammad and Asst. Lect. Lamia Hussein have prepared and delivered a lecture to define what is required to reject the abuse of women, which included simple violations rather than severe harassment 

Verbal abuse is defined as well and categorized as an aggressive behavior that can be issued by a person who intends to attack the dignity and freedom of women.  Also, the Iraqi Law No. 111 of 1969 and the subsequent amendment are presented, which describe the electronic harassment in social media networks and the associated penalties

The workshop then recommended creating a solid committee that can follow up on cases related to electronic harassment
