Concluding a scientific cooperation agreement with Al-Farahidi University

The Metro Program for developing university students in the field of entrepreneurship honors two teachers from the Department of Electromechanical Engineering


The program's coordinators and the representative of the Office of the Scientific Undersecretary in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Haider Abd Dhad, honored the efforts made by students participating in the Metro program to develop university students in the field of entrepreneurship and their essential role in achieving the program's goals to encourage Iraqi youth to build and develop their professional path. The program's coordinators and the representative of the Office of the Scientific Undersecretary in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Haider Abd Dahd, honored the Head of the Electromechanical Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ghassan Abdel Hussein Bilal, and the Head of the Cultural Relations Division, Assistant Professor Dr. Sondos Samir Jumah
The department head expressed his gratitude for this honor, highlighting the interest of the Electromechanical Engineering Department and the University of Technology in general in students and graduates. He emphasized the need to exert more effort and dedication in serving our dear students and graduates, as well as supporting any volunteer work that is primarily in the student's interest

Students in Iraqi universities' Unmanned Aircraft Systems Engineering Branch, Electromechanical Engineering Department, won a graduation project within the top 10

 

The Sons of the Engineer Gathering, sponsored by the Popular Mobilization Forces, at the University of Baghdad / Al-Hakim Martyr Hall, held the Central Graduation Ceremony in its second edition for all Iraqi university students on 6/29/2024, in the presence of important figures, including Dr. Haider Abd Dahed, Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education, and Mr. Yasser Hussein Al-Issawi, the Assistant Chief of Staff of the Mobilization Forces; Dr. Ali Al-Khafaf, General Director of Public Relations and Social Services; and Mr. Hussein Flamers, advisor to the Prime Minister and founder of the Leadership Programme

The festival hosted an exhibition, marking the first comprehensive event for all graduates from Iraqi universities and institutes, selecting 40 projects from a pool of 550 projects nationwide to showcase their graduation projects. Students Ahmed Iyad Khalaf, Ahmed Majed Khaled Saif Nouri Sabah, and Thamer Salah Hussein prepared the project "Developing the Robustness and Accuracy of Artificial Intelligence for Detecting Faces and Objects Using a Drone" under the teaching supervision of Mayada Taqi Wazi. The two distinguished students, Ahmed Iyad and Ahmed Majed, presented the project, which ranks among the top 10 in Iraq

attended by parliaments, the head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, and many deputy ministers, general directors, university presidents, assistants, and teaching staff from various Iraqi universities

Discussion of the master's thesis entitled  “Fusion of GNSS IMU and laser device to find the location of a far object in 3d geographic coordinate”

 

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering discussed the master's thesis “Fusion of GNSS IMU and laser device to find the location of a far object in 3d geographic coordinate”, submitted by the student Muhammad Amer Hamid 

The thesis included a theoretical section on determining navigational sensors and their accuracy and then designing a system to detect the coordinates of a distant object by integrating several measuring devices and collecting navigational data to reach the new coordinates at a relatively low cost and with minimal measurement errors

The discussion committee chairman was Prof. Ghaida Qayna Salih. The committee members were Prof. Dahidar Khudair Latif and Prof. Wissam Ismat Abdel Latif.  The supervisors were Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qasim Muhammad and Asst. Prof. Dr. Aqeel Ali Wanas

The discussion concluded with the awarding of a master's degree with a Very Good grade
