Based on the pioneering role of the community service sector, environmental development, and investment in renewable energies, and in support of volunteering work and community servicing, the Head of the Electromechanical Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ghassan Abdul Hussein Bilal, welcomed and received in his office the members and the coordinator of the Green Team
The coordinator, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Wahab reviewed the activities and programs of the team in the field of spreading, in the Iraqi community, the culture of environmental awareness. The head of the department then listened and discussed the team’s opinions and proposals
Then, he expressed his support and encouraged the team’s efforts and suggestions
The meeting concluded with cooperation arrangements to promote the dissemination of environmental awareness culture

The Energy and Renewable Energies Branch in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering organised a workshop entitled “Electric Cars and Their Role in Reducing Fuel Consumption and Carbon Emissions in the Country”. The workshop is held in the Electronic Classroom and attended by some of the department’s teachers and students
The presentations are given by Prof. Dr. Hisham Salim Anid and Prof. Dr. Khaled Faisal Sultan to define electric cars and their economic role in reducing pollution levels of transportation emissions
The workshop included several topics, including the definition of electric cars and their types, their advantages and disadvantages, and the ways to address the defects of electric cars
The workshop concluded with some discussions and inquiries

On Saturday, 4/6/2024, the Department of Electromechanical Engineering donated and shared a comprehensive fast-breaking banquet with a group of orphans from Al-Taawoun Orphans House, which organized this occasion
Some of the department’s lecturers, students, and the association’s officials participated in this occasion
The donors thanked the association’s staff for this blessed charity work. They felt joy in between this fortunate group of God-beloved orphans who brought us mercy while taking care of them. This practice reminds us about our true religious instructions in the verses of the Wise Qur’an and the Hadiths of the Greatest Messenger and his Pure Family, peace being upon all of them
At the end of this meeting, everyone hoped to meet those orphans again due to the dignity they had gained by surviving them for the sake of the God Almighty

Lect. Asst. Dr. Aqeel Abdul Karim Abtan delivered the seminar introducing the LabVIEW program, which is used to prototype control systems in many universities and research centres. The workshop covered three axes. The first axes define the program’s tools in analysis and realising controlling algorithms. The second axis dealt with displaying functions and presenting results. The third axis focused on joining international LabVIEW’s practising courses and getting related certificates, which can offer great job opportunities for engineers
